On October 24, the 7th Member Congress of Shandong Society for Environmental Sciences (Hereinafter referred to as the "SSES") and 2020 Academic Conference were held in Jinan. Tang Bo, Director-general of SSES, attended the congress and made an important speech, Zhang Bo, Vice Chairman of Shandong Association for Science & Technology, Miao Xin, Deputy Director of Office of Comprehensive Affairs and Science& Technology of the Department of Ecological Environment of Shandong Province , attended the congress and delivered speeches. More than 280 directors, members and guests attended the congress, who were from Shandong University, Ocean University of China, China University of Petroleum, Shandong Normal University, Shandong Jianzhu University, Linyi University, Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Guo Chen Industrial Group Co., Ltd. and other universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and institutions. The congress deliberated and adopted the report on the work of the 6th Council (including financial work report), the constitution of SSES (Draft), the management measures for membership fees (Draft), and the election methods for the 7th member congress (Draft) made by Ji Ming, Secretary General of SSES, and voted to establish the Professional Committee for Radiation Safety and Protection of SSES. Yu Dehu, Vice President of Qingdao University of Technology, Zhang Shusheng, Vice President of Linyi University, Zhang Jian, Executive Vice Dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shandong University, Fan Cunli, former Vice President of Shandong Jianzhu University, and Zhao Zengyu, former Vice -general Manager of Yankuang Group, elected Vice Director-general of the 7th Council. Director-general Tang Bo put forward new ideas and arrangements for future work on aspects of adhering leadership of Party building, building a mechanism for the integration development of Party building and business, strengthening academic exchanges to promote discipline development and personnel training, carrying out popularization of science and improve the ecological and environmental scientific literacy of the whole people, enhancing service capability, helping innovation driven and high quality development of environmental protection industry, playing a think tank role and actively offered advice and suggestions, deepening exchanges and cooperation to achieve mutual benefit, strengthening their own construction, taking a more standardized, professional development path.

Zhang Jian, Vice Dean of School of environmental science and engineering, Shandong University, made a keynote report entitled "key areas of environmental science and technology and environmental protection industry in Shandong Province during the period of the 14th five year plan". The report elaborated the bottleneck problems of technology research and innovation in our province from six aspects: air pollution control, water pollution prevention and control, soil and solid waste pollution prevention and control, chemical industry park pollution prevention and control, green technology and regional ecological protection.
